Summary
The SHÈN team wanted to expand their offerings by adding an e-commerce offering while moving their site away from Squarespace. Their goal was create a more holistic web presence that captured all of their clinic’s diverse offerings.
Discovery
We started with a in-depth brand discovery session with SHÈN’s founder and core team members. We wanted to capture that the clinic had a wide variety of offerings from each of their individual practitioners. Bozeman is a small(ish) town, so it was important to create a “get to know you” moment for each of the clinic’s practitioner.
We brainstormed what made SHÈN stand out from its competitors in the Bozeman area and found that its unique space, (a converted historic chapel) is defining factor of the clinic. From there we decided to pursue custom photography of both the space the team as the sole visuals for this website.
Design
The SHÈN team favored a modern minimal website. Minimal styles (oddly enough) are harder to design because each of the elements becomes so important. We spent a lot of time defining the exact colors that would make the photos stand out. We paid special attention to developing the right font combination that would be clean enough so as not to clutter up the site but that added a little interest to an otherwise austere website.
BUILD
We begin to build the site using a crisp, modern template. Along the way, we did some problem solving to ensure that the SHÈN team would be able to run the new e-commerce branch or their business while seamlessly continuing inventory sales in store. We implemented a custom plug in that would allow for a minimal learning curve so that they could run point of sale and e-commerce from just one system. Our goal was to ensure that their front desk staff had a minimal learning curve and would be able to take on their e-commerce responsibilities smoothly and quickly.
We can not say enough good things about our experience with Dana + Modern Masters!! We had a really complicated project and lots of unforeseen road blocks; Dana was so helpful + kind + calm through it all. We felt that Dana really listened to our ideas and then made them look even better than we could have imagined. Her talent and kindness made our experience with the website world so easy. We have the website of our dreams and are SO grateful for her!! (Also – we want to be friends with her!) 500 stars – you can’t go wrong here!
