Today we’re going to look at how to use your testimonials to create a specific testimonial view for a an event or a page. So this is useful if you have testimonials already on your website, but you need to sell a course, or an event or a certain type of healing session, then you want to show a testimonial on the page that explains that session or course. And that testimonial, of course, should relate to that particular session or course, instead of just your overall services. So the way we’re going to do this is we’re going to go to testimonials views, and we’re going to create a brand new view for the page that you need. So I’ve already come up here and added a new view. I’m going to name that view. And then I’m going to scroll down here and start playing with the settings. So let’s say I want to show just one testimonial. And I’ll choose the one that I want to show. And then I’m going to choose which fields I want to show with this testimonial. So let’s say I don’t need the title, that’s kind of the title of the page. This testimonial doesn’t have a featured image. So I’ll get rid of that. I do want to show all of the content of the testimonial. And I also want to show the full name and the company name of the person who gave the testimonial. Okay, now I’m going to play with how this testimonial is going to show up. So let’s start with these default basic settings, I’m going to choose no quote symbol on the top. And I’m going to choose the normal layout since I only have one customer. I’ll come down here and I’ll save my changes. And I might come back and make visual alterations. First I want to paste this shortcode here at the top, into my event or post to show the testimonial. So let’s see this is an event from one of our clients. They do wonderful trainings that are great, actually, for any healer, teacher, social worker, and I’m gonna put this testimonial. Right below the ticket information. Now I’m using a shortcode. So I’m going to paste in this shortcode that I grabbed. Forgive me, I lost my place into the text field, not the visual field. So I pasted it in here. I’m going to save this. And now to help me make my visual edits, I’m going to open this event in a new tab and review what it will look like.
Now the great thing about shortcodes is that they change automatically. So I can see my testimonial here. And let’s say I don’t think this stands out enough as a testimonial. It’s kind of confusing what it is as compared to the rest of the content section. So I’m really going to try to make it stand out. So I’m going to come over here and alter the visual settings. See I’m gonna make it bold and keep the layout of single column, but I’m gonna put a different color background and I’m gonna choose one of their colors. Let’s just make it a slightly Oh, here we go. Okay, I’m grabbing one of this brands, theme colors and grabbed one of these theme colors, I’m going to just put that as the background and also make the font a little bit lighter. I’m gonna see if this helps it show up. So I saved these visual changes in my view creation panel. And all I have to do to see if I like that is come over here and reload the page. Okay, that’s okay. But now her name doesn’t show up so well. So I’m just going to do one more color tweak. And then I think it’ll be just fine. So now I have my Embedded testimonial and this testimonial would correspond exactly to this training course it’s being sold. I’ve been able to tweak the view and select the exact testimonial I want and place it in the page or post where it is relevant. So now go ahead and give it a try yourself. Use your testimonials plugin and add testimonials around your site to help your client make a decision to work with you.
