Bob Johnson opened the doors to our pharmacy in 1957—on the very same corner where we still stand today. From the beginning, his vision was simple: to offer personalized, old fashioned service to a community he cared deeply about.
In 1988, longtime employee Mike Donohue took up the mantle, purchasing the pharmacy from Bob and continuing that same heartfelt mission. Mike was more than a pharmacist—he was a trusted guide in healthcare for generations of families. Though we sadly lost Mike in 2022, his legacy lives on in every relationship we build.
Today, Bob Johnson’s Pharmacy remains proudly independent and locally owned. We’re honored to serve the vibrant neighborhoods of Ballard, Crown Hill, Wedgwood, Green Lake, and North Seattle. Whether you’re new to the area or have been with us for decades, you’ll always find a warm welcome and a team that truly cares.

Pharmacist, Owner
Matt, a lifetime resident of various neighborhoods in the Seattle area, is a UW pharmacy school graduate. Being a compound pharmacist is one of the things that Matt is most proud of as it allows for patients to have customized dosing options when other products don’t work. His passion for independent and hyper-local pharmacy services perfectly fits the Ballard community.

Pharmacy Manager & Pharmacist
She started at Bob’s in 2003 as a pharmacy assistant, worked her way up, and returned in 2021 after pharmacy school.
She recently earned her board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS)—a milestone she’s proud of.
